Bellingham Chamber Music Society Concert

Join BCMS for our final concert this season, Soundscapes. Debussy’s “Sonata for Flute, Viola, and Harp”, is a beautiful work flowing with improvisatory qualities. Elizabeth Raum’s “Searching for Sophia'' is a deeply haunting energetic work for oboe and strings. Our season concludes with Mendelssohn’s glorious “Octet” for strings. Symphonic in scope, it is scored for double string quartet interacting in complex ways written when he was 16 years old!

A reception will follow the concert where audience members and BCMS musicians can enjoy each other's company. Come early and enjoy a beverage with a friend in the Hotel's Rose Room!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
