Reading and Book Signing with Rena Priest


Join us at the Whatcom Museum this Free First Friday for a very special reading and book signing by Washington State's former poet laureate Rena Priest.

At 6 pm and 6:45 pm, she'll read The Secret Medicine, an essay from her new book Positively Uncivilized, which examines the impact of human inhabitants on the planet from an Indigenous perspective. Books for signing will be available for purchase at the museum.

And while you're at the Whatcom Museum, join us for a day of free events and free admission, including:

-Exhibition tours of 'myself inside your story' with artist Mary Ann Peters at 1 pm and 3 pm

-Mending with Silk Hand Stitching with Seiko Purdue from 3 - 5 pm

-And Record Your Story with Podcaster Kyle Norris from 4:30 - 6 pm
