Holiday Arts Markets in Whatcom County

Remember all those holiday gifts you were going to knit, sew, make or build? Are you running out of time? Fear not--you can still have a homemade holiday! Thanks to the many talented artists, craftspeople and food makers in Whatcom County, you don't need time or talent to give gifts made by hand and from the heart. Whatcom County Holiday arts markets are already buzzing with the sights, sounds and smell of the season, so get your list together and head out to one or more of these special events that will put you right in the holiday mood. Buy local, give back and enjoy the fruits of our artisans' labor.

Bellingham Holiday Arts Markets

November 20 – December 24 Bellingham, Holiday Arts Markets, Allied Arts One of Bellingham's longest-running and most popular holiday art markets is the Allied Arts Holiday Festival of the Arts. This year it runs seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and features 100+ local artisans. The market moves around as space is available, but this year you'll find it in exactly the same location as last year, in the Cordata area, next to the Burlington store. Here you'll find funky, fun, beautiful and affordable goods such as jewelry, paintings, wearable art, specialty foods and art. Enjoy happy hour as you peruse the goods, On Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. musicians will perform for your listening pleasure. Festival weekends are always great for families, with live music, artist demos and workshops, and free family art projects. 4145 Meridian St., Bellingham, WA  Closed on Thanksgiving, open Christmas Eve until 3:00 p.m.   Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 Bellingham, Holiday Arts Markets, Alley DistrictBellingham's Alley District presents Art on Tap. This is the third year for this unique showcase of art, music, performance and fire. Plan a fun day and evening for your Thanksgiving company, roaming the Alley District, visiting the merchants and artists, listening to live music and enjoying performance art. When the sun goes down, the bonfires startup to keep everyone toasty warm. And there's a beer garden! Located in the courtyard just off of the bike path on the corner of E. Laurel St and N. State St behind Ability Art Studio. The event is open Saturday from noon to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.   Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 Bellingham, Holiday Arts Markets, Make.ShiftHoliday Make.Sale Make.Shift, 306 Flora St., Bellingham, WA. Friday 6:00-10:00 p.m., and Saturday noon-6:00 p.m. Local, handmade crafts, plus Black Drop Coffeehouse will be pouring hot beverages, including coffee, hot tea and cider, as well as hot winter cocktail options.   Saturday, December 5 St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Holiday Faire, 2117 Walnut St., Bellingham WA  9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.   Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 Christmas Bazaar at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 510 E. Sunset Drive Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 a.m. - 5;00 p.m.   Saturday, December 12 Whatcom Hills Waldorf School Holiday Faire 941 Austin St., Bellingham, WA 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  Each activity costs from $1 to $3. Free parking at The Firs at 4605 Cable St. A free shuttle brings people to and from the school. Friday, December 18 Pacific Arts Holiday Market The 19th annual Pacific Arts Market features more than 30 artists, offering unique jewelry, pottery, woodwork, textiles, fiber art, bath & body products, book & paper art, leather, 3-D art, clothing, accessories, holiday ornaments, paintings, photography and specialty foods. Live music, too. Sunset Square Shopping Center, 1125 E. Sunset Dr., Bellingham WA  10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
