Whalien w/ Josh Clauson and Friends

Whalien may be one of the most eclectic groups you’re ever likely to hear. They’re rooted in the jam band scene, so if you’re looking for long jams, they’ve got those for sure. But they also bounce across innumerable other genres.  At any given moment, their music might sound like country, ska, disco, jazz fusion, hard rock or something entirely new. It’s all going to be danceable, though, as long as you’re in the right frame of mind. Whalien embraces an aesthetic of bright colors, with lots of glitter and sparkle (and some seriously bizarre hats).

If the darkness and gloom of the winter are getting you down, the energy and excitement of a show like this might be just what you need.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
