26th Annual MLK Jr. Day Event

In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Community Food Co-op will host its 26th annual MLK Jr. Day Event. Join us to celebrate Dr. King’s notion of a “Beloved Community,” envisioned as a society based on justice, equal opportunity, and love of one's fellow human beings. This year’s format will be focused on celebrating Dr. King through songs of freedom, harmony, and justice, led by special musical guest and choir conductor Checo Tohomaso. Having toured with Motown legend Marvin Gaye, Checo is spirited, authentic, and true to the music.

Free to attend. Everyone welcome.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
