Rug Hooking with Yarn
REGISTRATION DEADLINE Tuesday, April 21, 12:00pm
Rug hooking is an old tradition that afforded people a way of using leftover yarn or fabric and expressing themselves making art camofladged as rugs. What’s not to love about that? While it is common to see rugs hooked out of felted wool strips, especially on the East Coast, we will be making ours with yarn in the class. In this class, we will learn about rug hooking and start a project. We will cover transferring our design onto the burlap base fabric, attaching it to your stretcher frame and hooking the design with yarn. We will also cover finishing options, how to cat-proof it, etc.
