Bellingham Scottish Gathering

The gathering is a full day celebrating the magnificent and colorful culture of Scotland. Features include Celtic musicians, competitive Highland dancing, storytelling, Clan booths, vendors and a visit by a majestic Clydesdale horse – Scotland’s gentle giant.

The first-ever 'Fabric & Fiber of Scotland Contest' showcases items constructed with yarn, tartan or tweed of Scottish origin.

Musicians include local Celtic bands: Ladies of Lindsay and The Moving Hats. Dancing events feature the traditional Highland Fling and Sword Dance, national dances of Scotland and Sailors’ Hornpipes.

Beautiful Marine Park is surrounded by the Salish Sea and mirrors Scotland’s dramatic coastal vistas and harbor operations. The park is easy to find - less than a minute from I-5 and the Peace Arch border crossing into Canada.

The 7th Annual Bellingham Scottish Gathering is a perfect outdoor event for all ages and is educational and full of fun!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
