The Best Cocktail Bars in Bellingham for Every Mood

For delicious, seasonally inspired drinks and an atmosphere fit for Great Gatsby himself, visit Fairhaven Village's favorite art-deco cocktail bar. Cozy up in one of the bar’s high-back booths or enjoy your drink on the heated, covered patio (perfect for people-watching). The food menu features sophistical small bites and tasty desserts.

Can’t decide between whiskey, vodka, gin, or schnapps? Sample a little of each with a spirits flight from Chuckanut Bay Distillery's new restaurant, Penny Farthing. Choose four of the distillery's most popular spirits - including their Krampus Hazelnut Spiced Liqueur and Potato Vodka Gin. Plus, even better news: the flight is free with any bottle purchase.

No need to drink on an empty stomach; Penny Farthing also offers a robust food menu with everything from flatbreads and sliders to baby back ribs.

B-Town Kitchen & Raw Bar, connected to the Four Points by Sheraton, has one of the happiest happy hours in Bellingham, for a few reasons:

  • Their happy hour runs from 3-6 PM every day of the week.
  • Their shaker martinis, normally $13, are only $10.
  • Their small plates are also discounted, so you never have to drink on an empty stomach. The fries are ridiculously good, and you can also get oyster shooters.

Tough week at work? No friends? Bad hair day? Whatever's getting you down, smooth out the rockiness with a cocktail on the rocks at Carnal in Downtown Bellingham. This restaurant is known for its meats, particularly their short ribs, but their drink menu packs plenty of punch, too. You'll find creative combinations (like their drink featuring rum, mezcal, falernum, passion fruit, garam masala, and lime) alongside tried-and-true classics.

Sip a stellar drink under the stars (glow-in-the-dark ones, that is) at this space-themed cocktail bar in downtown Bellingham. Fuel up with a selection of burgers and hot dogs (pick from meat and vegan options!) or play a game of pool.

Because sometimes you just need a tiny umbrella in your drink. L&L Libations delivers tropical vibes right in the heart of downtown Bellingham. Think: Boozy slushies in a tiki glass and hot pink cocktails served with generous chunks of citrus. They also make a mean crunch wrap.

This hard-to-spot speakeasy is worth the search and perfect for a romantic night out. Though there’s no flashy sign to pull you in, you can find this mysterious cocktail bar on Holly Street in downtown Bellingham. The drinks are strong, the interior is classy, and there’s a covered patio for a not-as-stealthy bar experience.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
