2024 Better Newspaper Contest Awards


The Northern Light newspaper and special publications (Point Roberts Press, Inc.) received a record-breaking 62 awards at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association’s 2024 Better Newspaper Contest at the state conference in Olympia last month.

The entries, judged by Arizona newspaper professionals, represent the best editorial, reporting, photography and advertising published by Washington’s weekly newspapers in the past year. The outstanding and talented staff at Point Roberts Press continue to excel at delivering real, local news and creating tourism/lifestyle publications that draw visitors from far and wide. Special recognition went to Mount Baker Experience 1st place and Pacific Coast Weddings 2nd place in the Lifestyle/Culture category, and Waterside 2nd place in the Tourism category, cover design.
