"Art Beyond Conflict: Crossing Borders" Exhibition opens March 3 through April 22 at Sculpture Northwest Gallery, 203 Prospect Street #101 in Bellingham, WA. Responding to a seemingly pervasive prejudice against peoples from the Middle East and North African regions exacerbated by the recent travel ban, Sculpture Northwest is promoting an appreciation of cultural diversity through an international public sculpture exhibition titled "Art Beyond Conflict: Crossing Borders" The exhibition will feature artists from regions impacted by the recent travel ban including Iran, Iraq, Libya, as well as Saudi Arabia and Israel. The Gallery offers a safe place of creative expression for artists who have moved beyond past conflicts using art as one vehicle to do so, and those among the public who appreciate creative cross-cultural exchanges. It is part of a larger exhibition supported by Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island counties. Entry to the exhibition is free. The opening is at 6 p.m. Mar. 3, for First Friday Art Walk in downtown Bellingham. Sculpture Northwest is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.
