April 19*, 26 at 5:30

Firehouse Arts and Events Center (1314 Harris Ave.)

Bellingham Repertory Dance (BRD) presents If not now, an evening of contemporary dance. This performance features previously performed works from BRD’s repertory, as well as new works choreographed by company members Erin Keeney and Juliette Machado. From sweeping, momentum based phrase work to character-driven gesture, BRD is thrilled to share this dynamic show with Bellingham audiences.

Performances run April 18-19* and 25-26 at the Firehouse Arts and Events Center.

Returning to the Firehouse stage, Lilianna Kane’s (Bellows Falls, VT) “Revel in 2” explores unison without uniformity, inviting the dancers to embrace their individual expression. “Exodus,” by Ryan Corriston (Harrisonburg, VA), showcases a whirlwind of bodies that physically and thematically launch the performers from constraint to freedom. Danah Bella’s (Baltimore, MD) “amá” expresses familial relationships through athleticism and partnership. If not now will also include two new works by BRD company members: a dramatic premiere by Erin Keeney, and a sneak preview of a mysterious new project by Juliette Machado and friends.

*On April 19th, Bellingham Repertory Dance will be presenting If not now as a relaxed performance. We're excited to offer this opportunity to experience this show in a relaxed, approachable environment where people from all communities are welcome, including people who are neurodiverse or have disabilities. The relaxed performance will include lighting and sound level adjustments, venue and performance guides, additional staffing, multiple intermissions, and an open invitation for audience members to move and make noise as needed.

Bellingham Repertory Dance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering high-level dance productions, as well as class and performance opportunities for the community. Visit bhamrep.org to learn more about BRD and how to get involved.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
