On July 19, Hawaiian-born singer/songwriter Kirby Ai will play a late night show in Bellingham's Backyard at Boundary Bay Brewery. Ai will continue his Finding Latitude tour in Bellingham at Boundary Bay Brewery as part of his west coast summer tour for his latest album release. The album, titled “Finding Latitude,” features elements of Country and Pop-Rock. The first single released from the album, “Keep My Distance”, combines catchy rhythms with subtle guitar riffs to make Ai’s pop-country voice shine as he brings his listeners along for the ride. “Music is a way for me to connect with my emotions, thoughts, and most of all to connect with others and spread love. My Pop-Rock/Country sound is filled with bluesy, soulful elements that have been shaped by my experiences from where I’ve lived and traveled, as well as my love for Pop, Rock, Blues, Country, and Hawaiian music,” Ai states on his website. The late-night show starts at 9:30 p.m. following Boundary Bay’s normal Fryday Fish Fry, which showcases Oregon-based “bluesy-rootsy” band Jezebel’s Mother (6-9 p.m.). Both the Fish Fry and Late Night show are free and all-ages until 10 p.m. “The night is shaping up to be a variety of talents from all along the Pacific Coast and we’re really excited about these new sounds we’re bringing to the Bellingham live music scene,” says Aubrey McNeil, Boundary Bay’s Events Assistant. “We’ve been working towards getting new and fresh talents onto the stage in addition to the classic and beloved acts we’ve enjoyed working with for years.” Ai was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu and pursued a Music Production degree in California before moving to Nashville, Tennessee to continue his musical career. He is a surfer, ocean-lover, singer-songwriter, and guitar player. For more information about Kirby Ai, visit: http://www.kirbyai.com/
