BSO’s April 27 "Singing Out" Concert Features Works by Henriëtte Bosmans, Gabriel Fauré, and Kenji Bunch

Tchaikovsky Competition-winning violinist Itamar Zorman performs tas part of BSO’s Harmony From Discord series

The Bellingham Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce its April 27th concert at the historic Mount Baker Theatre. “Singing Out” features guest soloists Itamar Zorman, Heather Dudenbostel, and Richard Hodges, as well as the Bellingham Chamber Chorale. Works will be performed by Henriëtte Bosmans, Gabriel Fauré, and Kenji Bunch.

Zorman, a Tchaikovsky Competition-winning violinist, will join the orchestra for a powerful afternoon of music centerstage with Harmony from Discord, BSO’s concert series that celebrates music transcending oppression by shining a light on composers whose music has endured through the darkest of times across the globe. The program closes with Fauré’s Requiem featuring two soloists and the Bellingham Chamber Chorale.

The New York Times describes Zorman’s playing as conveying “precisely the right mix of tenderness, agitation and spiritual succor.”

Tickets start at just $15. More details are available at bellinghamsymphony.org/event/singing-out

The concert repertoire is as follows and will run approximately 90 minutes with intermission:

Kenji Bunch | Supermaximum (12’)

Henriëtte Bosmans | Concert Piece (17’)

Gabriel Fauré | Requiem (30’)

with the Bellingham Chamber Chorale

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
