Expo, Expo, Expo! March 1, 2025: Read All About It!

Attend the ninth annual, FREE Whatcom Farm Expo on Saturday, March 1st in the WECU Expo Building at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden from 9am to 2pm. This event offers something for everyone. If you already operate a farm and are looking for new ideas or markets, are thinking of starting a small farm, making the transition from hobby to business, are a home gardener, or are interested in homesteading, come learn about resources available for the whole family to learn something new.

This event is designed to be an informal meet-and-greet and networking opportunity. Visitors can engage with successful farm owners, market resources for local growers, community and farming advocacy groups, and much more. With exhibits for all ages, this event offers the opportunity to discover new resources to improve and expand productivity, animal and soil health, pasture quality, and homesteading happiness. Check out farm equipment firsthand at the equipment showcase. The Expo will also offer information on funding opportunities through grants, rebates, and financial assistance programs.

The 2025 Farm Expo will include:

  • Breakout workshop sessions with demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities about hay quality & pasture management, therapy animals, and caring for fruit trees.
  • Over 40 different exhibitors from all walks of farming including beekeepers, building suppliers, local beef, poultry & pork producers, horticulturalists, community organizations, specialists, and more!
  • Seminars throughout the day from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on topics including raising meat birds, getting started raising cattle for beef, ranch and pasture planning, and native plants in the farm ecosystem.
  • Multiple food and beverage options.
  • Live animals.

Hosted by Whatcom Conservation District and Whatcom County Public Works, the event is free, open to the public, and has activities for all ages! Visit www.whatcomcd.org/whatcom-farm-expo for more details, including the list of speakers and talks that will happen throughout the day. Special thanks to our sponsor: Costal Reality.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
