This summer Make Shift in Bellingham, WA will be offering two educational workshop classes for our communities youth, Writers toolbox and The Present Sense. Both workshops aim to inspire, nudge and guide others through the creative process. Writers toolbox is a free event every Tuesday and Friday, starting on June 14th, with award winning hip hop artist Rick Chyme. Chyme has worked in the music industry for 16 years and has collaborated as a youth educator for the program “Be Nice.” Over the course of this three week workshop, children and adults will explore the tools and exercises necessary to spark creativity. Doing so through, meditation, free writing, cut ups and group collaboration. This free workshop will be available to anyone over nine and also includes a ticket to the Pickford Film center and the Spark Museum. This workshop aims to explore the 5 senses and strengthen the mind through art, music, dance, meditation tips, coloring, and exploring various perspectives and physical sensations.
