Live Outdoor Music Series Kick-Off Friday May 7 at Thousand Acre Cider House

Thousand Acre Cider House, located at 109 Grand Ave Suite 101 in downtown Bellingham, will host local bands performing live music every weekend through Summer ’21 beginning Friday, May 7th. Lefty and the Right Hand Band, a Bellingham-based Rock & Blues band, perform this Friday from 7-9 p.m. outdoor.

The venue created a covered patio for customer seating and a stage area for bands to safely distance from each other during performances to follow the Governor’s Phase 3 restrictions during the COVID-19 crisis. For guests preferring to sit inside, speakers cast the band’s music indoor to the spacious 1,600 sq ft. bar area where additional spaced seating is available. Music genres vary by artist weekly.

“When we opened our doors in August 2019, we were pleasantly surprised that live music became a key part of our identity. Little did we know that six months later, everything about our business would be completely flipped,” says Thousand Acre’s co-owner Jenny Hagemann. “Our creativity, our staff’s tenacity and commitment to safe service, and unbelievably supportive community got us through 2020 and now we are thrilled to celebrate the return of live music and more hopeful days ahead,” she adds.

Larry O’Connor, founding member and bassist of Lefty and the Right Hand Band says, “After many long months practicing, hoping, and waiting to be able to perform again, we are so excited to bring music to the street at Thousand Acre Cider House.”

Customers are encouraged to pre-book tables for all performances online at www.thousandacreciderhouse.com/. Any remaining tables will be first-come, first-served. Cover charges go directly to the bands.

Patrons can also enjoy a rotating tap list of hard cider, craft beer, wine, and Thousand Acre’s specialty Cidertails (cider-based cocktails). For food options, Thousand Acre offers gourmet charcuterie boards and baguette sandwiches and allows food from neighboring restaurants to be consumed onsite. The venue is 21+ only.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
