Park Facility and Shelter Reservation Update

In light of Governor Inslee’s announcement regarding an anticipated statewide reopening of Washington on June 30th, Whatcom County Parks is updating reservation information for park facilities and shelters. This information is subject to change at any time based on updated guidance from State or Local health officials.

Outdoor Shelter Reservations:
Parks will continue to accept outdoor picnic shelter reservations for events prior to June 30th with a maximum group size of 50 people. For events after June 30th, group sizes may be increased to normal shelter capacity.

Indoor Facility Reservations:
Reservations for indoor facilities will open on June 16th at 9am, for events starting July 1st. Group sizes will be subject to the facility capacity.

All facility or shelter reservation holders will still be required to agree to abide by any COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines from the State’s Healthy Washington Roadmap to Recovery Plan in place on the date of their reservation. Cancellations due to changing COVID-19 guidelines will be subject to the standard refund policy.

Reservations can be made by calling the Parks Administrative Office at 360-778-5850. More information about Whatcom County park shelters and facilities can be found online here.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
