Join us for the return of the 7-Day Dance Festival — a beloved Bellinghambased community project! Dancers and choreographers of all dance styles and levels of experience are invited to come together and create new work. This week-long creative process will culminate in two performances open to the public on Saturday, September 17 at 5:00 and 7:30 PM at the Firehouse Arts and Events Center. The content of this show is still yet to be known. 7DDF invites you to take a risk on this unique audience experience, and witness the creativity that emerges. In addition to live performances, this year’s 7-Day Dance Festival will include films created during the week by participants in the “From Anywhere” track. The pandemic presented certain barriers to connection but, through creative problem-solving and shifting technological norms, we have found new ways to make art with friends near and far.
Inspired by the internationally touring 48-Hour Film Project, 7DDF is a unique opportunity for dance artists to create. “One of the biggest barriers to making work can be the lack of a deadline. This festival aims to bridge that gap and give dancers a chance to play, not over-think their choices, and perform something new.” - Juliette Machado, Festival Coordinator.
