The Holiday Food & Farm Finder Makes Eating and Shopping Local Easy!

The "Eat Local for the Holidays'' campaign is back, providing fresh inspiration for anyone seeking unique ideas for gifts and tastes that both dazzle and honor the beauty and meaning of place. Eat Local First offers simple ways to spread warmth and joy while supporting local farms and food businesses this holiday season. This initiative, now in its fifth year, aims to raise awareness and rally support for the vibrant community of Washington's farmers, fisherfolk, restaurants and makers who always remind us that the best flavors come from home.

Local Delights at your Fingertips

To facilitate this journey, the Holiday Food and Farm Finder serves as a comprehensive guide, allowing consumers to connect directly with over 1,800 local farmers, growers, producers, and businesses across the state. From farm-fresh foods to locally grown and crafted holiday decor, the Holiday Food and Farm Finder is your go-to resource for crafting meaningful and delicious holiday experiences.

Community Investment During the Holidays

Jessica Meyer, the Outreach Coordinator for Eat Local First, emphasizes the importance of supporting small farms and food businesses during the holiday season. "Many of our local farmers and food artisans depend on holiday income during a time of year when harvests are less plentiful. Supporting them now means you can enjoy the fruits of their labor in the spring and summer, too!"

About the Eat Local First Collaborative

Produced by the Eat Local First Collaborative, a collective of food system organizations, this campaign seeks to strengthen the bond between consumers and farm and food businesses statewide. Members of the Collaborative include Seattle Good Business Network, Sustainable Connections, The Local Food Trust, Tilth Alliance, Washington State University Food Systems, and Washington State University Regional Small Farms Program.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
