Visit Bellingham | Whatcom County Introduces Three Interactive Mobile Quest Passes

Visit Bellingham | Whatcom County has launched three interactive mobile Quest Passes to drive visitors and residents to exciting locations throughout Whatcom County, with a focus on farm-to-table dining, port communities along the 49th parallel, and cultural activities.

Powered by the travel marketing technology company Bandwango, each curated Quest Pass recommends local destinations and experiences—and offers perks for every visit. The passes are free, easy to use, and available on any mobile device. Users simply download the pass, check-in at participating locations, and receive available discounts, promotions, and prizes!

For now, users can choose between three curated passes:

  • Farm to Table TrailThis seasonal itinerary directs users to farmstands, wineries, and farm-to-fork restaurants around Bellingham and Whatcom County. All check-ins through August 31 count toward a prize.

  • 49th Parallel Ports PassThis pass directs users to port communities along the 49th parallel, including the charming seaside town of Blaine and the remote exclave of Point Roberts. Users who check in to five locations are entered to win an overnight stay at Semiahmoo Resort.

  • Culture CrawlThis pass guides users to experience Bellingham and Whatcom County’s top cultural destinations, including local museums, theaters, bookstores, and more. The first 200 people to complete six stops receive a thank you present.

Marketing Director Amy Guerra notes, "Visit Bellingham | Whatcom County is so happy to have partnered with Bandwango to build out these Quest passes. Whatcom County has wonderful, diverse activities and our mobile-friendly Quest challenges make it easy and fun to discover new businesses and destinations. There are many attractions still struggling to rebound from the pandemic, and this was our investment to help drive visitors to more places, learn more, love more about our region, stay longer, and come back!"

Visit Bellingham | Whatcom County is an independent, 501 (c)(6) nonprofit economic development organization whose purpose is to improve the economy by marketing Bellingham and Whatcom County as premier, year-round visitor, sports, outdoor recreation, arts and cultural, and meetings destinations, and which supports all travel, tourism, and hospitality businesses and nonprofits in Whatcom County.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
