If there were a mecca for snowboarders, it would be Mt. Baker Ski Area in Bellingham, Washington. Snowboarding wasn't invented here but was always welcomed at a time many resorts banned it. Located in the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, this is the most austere of the ski areas on this trip. Its isolation means fewer crowds, and record snows make it worth the trek on the dead-end road. This is old-school skiing and snowboarding at its best with a chill vibe.
